A swimmer who rescued a young girl caught in a rip current has been found dead Saturday morning in Myrtle Beach, according to a report from WMBF News.
Around 7:53 p.m. on Friday, a young girl was caught in a rip current near 10th Avenue South.
Other WRAL Top StoriesAnother swimmer, later identified by family members as 47-year-old Derrick Moore, entered the water to help her, but was then pulled underwater by the rip current, according to Myrtle Beach police.
The condition and whereabouts of the young girl are not yet known.
His daughter told WRAL News that Moore did not know the girl before he jumped into the water.
