According to Nash County EMS, Dale Griffin, 60, died on Saturday. Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone confirmed that Griffin drowned at a beach in Carteret County. Nash County posted a statement on Facebook that reads:Dale was a dedicated EMS professional and an invaluable member of Nash County Emergency Services for many years. "Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dale Griffin, Nash County EMS Director. We also keep his EMS family in our hearts as they grieve this tremendous loss," Nash County EMS said on Facebook.
