The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit and Tim Hortons want stricter rules when it comes to smoking near their entranceways.

Under North Bay’s Smoking in Public Places Bylaw – a nine-metre smoke-free buffer is automatically placed only around municipally-owned buildings.
The health unit and owner of Tim Horton’s franchise on McKeown Ave. have filled and submitted the form.
Enforcement of the current smoking restrictions is conducted by by-law officers, including contract and agent officers, according to the report.
