Kingston was notably the first-ever Continental Champion with Saturday’s win being his first on AEW TV in nearly eight months. In another first time matchup, Orange Cassidy snapped a four-match losing streak on AEW TV with a win over Matt Sydal. The end came when Cassidy avoided a shooting star press attempt and hit Sydal with a Beach Break to get the pin. The semifinals then take place on the go-home edition of AEW Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland, with the finals set for the pay-per-view in London’s Wembley Stadium.
