The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Friday and one early this (Saturday) morning. Just before 8:30 a.m. Friday, members of the Brenham Fire Department and Berlin Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at Smitty’s Café and Bakery, 4355 Highway 290 West. Firefighters provided blocking before being released from the scene. Approaching 10:15 p.m., BFD personnel were called out to the Brenham Municipal Airport for an aircraft emergency. The department provided fire protection while the aircraft was being moved.
