Shortly after 4 p.m., a caller reported the fire burning near the Cholame Y – the intersection of Highway 46 and Highway 41. The fire rapidly spread scorching 2,091 acres after spreading into Kern County. Firefighters report zero containment of the Antelope FireOfficials temporarily closed and then reopened a portion of Highway 46, according to the CHP. A portion of northbound Highway 41 is currently closed.
