By Olusesan LaoyeThe Organising Council of the Daily Times Nigeria Centenary (DTN@100) Heroes Awards has announced four recipients of its special honours, recognising their contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, environmental sustainability, social transformation and global competitiveness. Ahmadu was named recipient of the National Global Champion Award for his role in strengthening Nigeria’s economic engagement with the Arabian Gulf region and promoting strategic trade and investment partnerships. Olusi, the BOI chief executive, received the National Development Award for his leadership in promoting industrialisation, enterprise development, job creation and inclusive economic growth. Okusaga said the selection process was based on rigorous assessment by the Awards Board, with emphasis on measurable impact, transformational leadership, innovation and enduring contributions to national development. “Our Awards Board undertook a rigorous and independent assessment of nominees, focusing on measurable impact, transformational leadership, innovation and enduring contributions to national development,” he said.
