SCDOT says improvements have been completed at 52 locations across Berkeley County, with five additional crosswalks at two locations still in progressBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — More than 130 crosswalks across Berkeley County have been installed or upgraded as part of a years-long effort to improve pedestrian safety throughout the Lowcountry.

In Berkeley County, SCDOT project records show 135 crosswalks at 52 locations have been installed or upgraded between 2019 and 2026.
Another five crosswalks at two Berkeley County locations are currently listed as in progress, bringing the county’s overall project total to 140 crosswalks at 54 locations when completed.
Once those projects are finished, the Berkeley County portion of the initiative will account for 140 installed or upgraded crosswalks at 54 locations.
