A Bury shopping centre has been recognised with a prestigious Gold Commonwealth Award after raising more than £90,000 for charity and transforming vacant shops into spaces that support local people and community organisations.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre received the highest honour in the Commonwealth Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility Awards 2026 during a ceremony held alongside the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, recognising its outstanding commitment to making a positive difference across Bury.
The Gold award celebrates the shopping centre’s work in supporting local charities, creating inclusive community spaces and helping thousands of residents through initiatives that go far beyond retail.
