(File photo)Following residents’ concerns regarding policing on the most recent tax bylaw, the Town of Stettler administration has issued an update. The 2026 tax bylaw includes a line indicating that 1.89 per cent of the total mill rate is allocated to policing costs, which amounts to about $1.76 million. Under the agreement, policing costs are shared between the town and the federal government. In the 2026 tax bylaw, the town estimated a total budget of $24.9 million, with revenues aside from taxes estimated at $14.2 million.
