A man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute over Tk 5,000 in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari yesterday morning. The deceased, Shariful Islam Hira, 40, of Bahadurpur in Goalanda, lived at his in-laws’ house near Torai Mor-Kazipara in Goalanda municipality, police said. Md Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Goalanda Ghat Police Station, said Shariful had an altercation with Kamrul Hossain in Torai Mor over Tk 5,000 that Kamrul allegedly owed him. At one point, Kamrul allegedly stabbed Shariful with a knife, leaving him critically injured. Locals took Shariful to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
