NET Web DeskGuwahati, August 7: Assam Police on Friday busted an alleged illegal slaughterhouse in Nagaon district during an early morning operation, arresting one person and seizing 285 kg of suspected beef, 36 cattle and two buffaloes. According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the slaughterhouse was allegedly being operated by Noor Ali and Noor Zaman. Police arrested Asab Ali in connection with the case, while the two other accused are currently absconding. A search operation is underway to apprehend them. The Chief Minister said the Assam government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against illegal cattle smuggling and unlawful slaughter, adding that those involved will face strict legal action.
