Abhijit Nath, NET Correspondent, TripuraAgartala, August 7, 2026: The Tripura government has initiated discussions on introducing app-based cab services at major transport hubs in the state, including Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Badharghat Railway Station and Jogendranagar Railway Station.
Speaking about the initiative, Chowdhury said the government is working towards creating a modern and technology-driven public transport system that would make commuting more convenient for passengers.
“Our goal is to establish a safe, modern, transparent and technology-driven public transport system for the people of Tripura—one that makes travel easier, faster and more reliable for passengers,” the Transport Minister said.
He stressed that the successful implementation of app-based cab services would require coordination among all stakeholders.
If implemented, the app-based cab facility is expected to provide passengers arriving at and departing from the airport and railway stations with a more organised and convenient mode of transportation.
