Abhijit Nath, NET Correspondent, TripuraAgartala, August 08, 2026: Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Friday met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ support towards the operationalisation of six new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in the state. The Tribal Welfare Minister said the expansion of the EMRS network would help provide quality education and better residential facilities to students from tribal communities, while also improving access to educational opportunities in remote areas. “It was a privilege to call on Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram Ji and convey my sincere gratitude for the Ministry’s support towards the operationalisation of six new Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Tripura,” Debbarma said. He added that the approval would contribute significantly to expanding access to quality education through the EMRS network and strengthening the state’s educational infrastructure. Debbarma was accompanied by Tapash Ranjan Bhowmik, Executive Engineer, Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS), and Madan Gopal Modak, Deputy Executive Officer, Tripura Housing Board, during the meeting.
