Tripura’s Former CM Manik Sarkar Slams Power Crisis, Urges Government to Act

“There is no shortage of electricity in Tripura,” Sarkar said, recalling the achievements of the previous Left Front government.
Taking a dig at the government, Sarkar questioned the priorities of the concerned minister, referring to the minister’s participation in agricultural activities while power infrastructure allegedly remained neglected.
Sarkar termed such action unfair to people who had purchased houses and were paying for electricity services.
Sarkar said a movement involving electricity consumers has been gaining momentum across Tripura, with organisations being formed at the sub-divisional level and deputations submitted before authorities.
Urging consumers to continue democratic protests and put pressure on the government, Sarkar called upon the administration to immediately address the grievances of electricity consumers.
