The year 1923 was also when Ruth and Herman Sater were joined in holy matrimony. Sater & Ridenour would then pick up the incoming mail and deliver it to the post office for local distribution. Edmonds-Alderwood Auto Freight continued to operate out of the Sater & Ridenour building until they moved to Mountlake Terrace in 1964. Desiring to fulfill the need, Sater & Ridenour moved away from coal and wood and focused on providing home heating oils. But you would be hard pressed to identify a couple who did more than Herman and Ruth Sater did for the City of Edmonds, both as employers and community and civic leaders.
