An evacuation order has been issued for 61 properties west of Merritt as the Ainslie Creek wildfire continues to grow in windy conditions. The order covers addressed properties west of Spius Creek, including areas along Petit Creek Road and Prospect Creek Forest Service Road. Affected addresses include 2145 to 2500 Cleasby Rd., 3141 to 3700 Cummings Rd., 3725 to 3816 Davidson Rd., 3425 to 3455 D’Easum Rd., 3605 and 3685 Jack Swartz FSR, 2728 to 3901 Petit Creek Rd. Residents within the evacuation order area must leave immediately. The Ainslie Creek wildfire is part of the Brunswick Complex burning west of Merritt and has prompted a series of evacuation orders and alerts in the Nicola Valley in recent weeks.
