In practice, commanders therefore often seek to have missing soldiers declared dead as quickly as possible. On May 9, the movement organized small demonstrations in several cities, where relatives gathered holding photographs of missing soldiers. But the issue had nothing to do with the search for missing soldiers, and the cooperation ended.
