The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi has expressed deep sorrow over Banda’s passing. Washon said Malawi’s media fraternity and stakeholders in the broadcasting sector would dearly miss the veteran journalist. The Media Council of Malawi (MCM) has also described Banda’s death as a “staggering loss” to his family and MBC. The media fraternity and the nation at large continue to mourn the loss of a journalist whose career left a lasting mark on Malawi’s broadcasting landscape.
