Father and son hit the road to uncover the island’s myths, history and traditionsMartin and Roman Kemp head off on a road trip around Ireland in a new Channel 4 series, exploring the stories, landscapes and traditions that have shaped the country. Martin, who lived in Ireland during his years with Spandau Ballet, returns with his TV presenter son to explore the island’s storytelling heritage, meeting people keeping traditional music, rituals and performances alive. They also investigate one of Ireland’s most significant stone circles and learn about traditional approaches to grief and loss. The County Cork leg ends with Martin joining a local storytelling group and taking to the stage himself. Martin & Roman’s Irish Road Trip starts Monday 10 August at 8pm on Channel 4.
