Ladakh draws 3.3 lakh tourists in first seven months

Leh, Aug 8: Ladakh’s tourism sector has witnessed a major surge this year, with tourist arrivals crossing 3.30 lakh during the first seven months of 2026, nearly matching the total footfall recorded during the entire year of 2025.
According to Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena, a total of more than 3.30 lakh tourists visited the Union Territory between January and July this year, against 3.35 lakh tourists recorded during the whole of 2025.
Tourist arrivals crossed the one-lakh mark in both June and July.
As per the figures shared by the administration, around 1.07 lakh tourists visited Ladakh in June, while another 1.05 lakh tourists arrived in July.
The administration has also highlighted the industry status granted to hotels as an important reform aimed at encouraging investment, improving tourism infrastructure and strengthening the hospitality sector.
