Srinagar, Aug 8: The Municipal Committee Uri has issued a final public notice warning property owners, builders, contractors and others against carrying out unauthorised construction, deviations from sanctioned building plans and illegal changes in land use within its jurisdiction. The Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Uri, said no person would be allowed to commence, execute, alter, extend or reconstruct any building or undertake any construction activity without obtaining prior building permission or sanction from the competent authority. It said any construction carried out without permission, deviation from sanctioned plans, unauthorised addition of floors, encroachment or structural alteration would be treated as unauthorised construction and invite action under law. It said deviations from sanctioned building plans, including construction of extra floors, projections, balconies, encroachments and violations of prescribed setbacks, would be liable for removal or demolition at the owner's risk and cost. The public has been urged to report cases of unauthorised construction, deviations from approved plans, unauthorised commercial use, illegal change of land use, encroachment on public or municipal property, or individuals claiming to secure illegal permissions to the office of the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Uri.
