Karimnagar: Vegetable farmers, especially those who previously sold their produce at the Kashmirgadda Rythu Bazaar, will be given priority in allotting stalls at the newly constructed market, Deputy Mayor and former Mayor Yadagiri Sunil Rao said.
A delegation of the Small Farmers Welfare Association met Sunil Rao at his camp office and submitted a memorandum seeking exclusive allotment of stalls to farmers.
They said the move would enable local growers to sell their produce directly to consumers and improve their livelihoods.
Sunil Rao said the new market was constructed at a cost of nearly ₹10 crore to provide better facilities to farmers and consumers.
He assured that genuine vegetable growers and those who had earlier operated at Kashmirgadda would be given preference.
