Paderu/Rampachodavaram: Following the call of various Adivasi Associations, the tribal bandh observed across parts of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Polavaram districts on Saturday evoked partial response, with tribal organisations demanding an alternative government order to replace GO 3 and the strict implementation of 1/70 Act. In Paderu, district headquarters, leaders of several tribal organisations staged a protest at RTC Complex junction in the morning. Police intervened and cleared the road, allowing a few RTC buses and other vehicles to proceed under security. Bandh had a strong impact in Rampachodavaram, Maredumilli and Polavaram areas in the Polavaram district. Tribal organisations staged protests and raised slogans demanding strict implementation of laws meant to safeguard the rights of tribal communities.
