The Berrien County Board of Commissioners has approved a plan to launch a new round of opioid settlement grants beginning in 2027.
In 2024, the county began partnering with Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center and the First Church of God to use the funds.
That three-year, $1.1 million program was to run through the end of this year.
The newly approved program increases the available funding to as much as $1.5 million over the next three years.
Applications from organizations looking to work with the county will be reviewed by the county’s opioid settlement team, which will make funding recommendations to the Board of Commissioners.
