Staff ReportWARSAW – A Warsaw couple was recently arrested for allegedly stealing money from a woman with dementia. One of the woman’s friends spoke on behalf of the woman, as the woman has dementia. After satisfying an outstanding tax lien of approximately $23,000, net proceeds in the amount of $75,026.61 were deposited into the woman’s bank account on Dec. 2, 2021. He also said some funds from the woman’s bank account went toward his own family. During a follow-up interview on Feb. 23, 2026, Eric admitted to transferring $50,000 from the woman’s bank account into a different bank account.
