Smith, the team’s 2024 first-round pick, has a 4.32 ERA in 20 outings (14 starts) for Triple-A Charlotte.
Smith, 22, has a 3.88 ERA in 43 career minor-league outings (37 starts) over three seasons in the Sox system.
