Watts Up With That?
…”Nobody Asked for AI BY GRACE BLAKELEY … The Big Tech companies have spent $1 trillion on capital investment since the start of the artificial-intelligence boom.
… After years of hype and trillions of dollars, the AI boom will leave us with a captured economy, a corrupted democracy, and a devastated environment.
Let’s hope the US Government’s dalliance with AI investment is one of the good picks.
As I’ve said elsewhere, AI is creating substantial productivity benefits, so at least we’re getting something back for all that investment in AI.
My favourite analogy to the AI boom is the 1800s railway era.
