The Star Party is scheduled to coincide with the Perseids Meteor Shower and the new moon. Attendees will learn about constellations, meteors, and other night sky objects. There are a variety of notable sights in the August night sky in addition to the meteor shower. The Perseids Meteor Shower will occur Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13. On dark nights in August and September, viewers should be able to see star fields with binoculars throughout the Milky Way.
