Colorado’s famous 14,000-foot peaks likely saw their lowest visitation in a decade in 2025, according to a new report. An estimated 18,000 fewer hikers visited Mount Blue Sky as a result, according to the report. Other popular 14ers, however, saw increases in the number hikers. The nonprofit said it had infrared trail counters installed at both of these peaks that were operational through the entire 2025 hiking season. Colorado’s 14ers saw more visitation than ever in 2020, with an estimated 415,000 hikers.
