Peren, August 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, on August 6 inaugurated the 'Green Peren' store at Jalukie Town, a long-pending initiative aimed at providing market access to local farmers. The store, conceptualised under the banner “Our land nourishes us. Speaking at the inauguration, Meru said the initiative would benefit farmers across the district by creating a dedicated platform for their produce. He noted that various departments, including Agriculture & Allied and Rural Development, had taken multiple interventions to make the project a reality. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to upskill with available materials and resources while urging the managing entity, Kingdom Steward, to adopt a sustainable business model despite the inherent risks in marketing farm products.
