Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): Several low-lying areas in Dimapur district, Nagaland, were flooded on Saturday following continuous heavy rainfall, disrupting normal life. A final-year college student died after being electrocuted when water entered his home, according to a PTI report. The deceased was identified as Imnamoa Longchar, a final-year BBA student at Tetso College in Chümoukedima. According to family sources, Longchar was trying to unplug the inverter when he was electrocuted amid the sudden flash flooding. Authorities have advised residents to avoid contact with electrical poles, wires, transformers, inverters, and other electrical equipment in or near flooded areas.
