There was almost always something happening somewhere, making simply moving through Outside Lands part of the experience. Die SpitzOne of the day’s first sizeable crowds gathered at the Sutro Stage for Austin, Texas powerhouse Die Spitz. GeeseBack at Sutro, Geese took over in the early evening and provided perhaps the clearest reminder yet that Outside Lands was sold out. That final image also felt strangely appropriate for Outside Lands itself. But for the first day of the sold out weekend, Outside Lands demonstrated why San Francisco remains such a natural home for an event built around collision and discovery.
