Ever since his arrival last summer, Liverpool fans have been left scratching their heads over what the club’s plan was when sanctioning a deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. Frustratingly, the Dutchman was never given the chance to really build on anything, with injuries stopping him from finding any kind of rhythm at Anfield. Without Bradley to challenge him, and with Araujo coming in purely as back-up, the Netherlands international has the platform to cement himself. Fail to grasp this chance, though, and it is easy to see Liverpool looking into the market again next summer. If Frimpong cannot deliver again, the Reds will have to act, and the former Leverkusen man could be out of the door.
