“Stop the Ban” reported Bloomberg’s $1.25 million donation on Wednesday to the Missouri Ethics Commission, the Missouri Independent reported. That ballot measure narrowly passed 52 percent to 48 percent and struck down the state’s abortion restrictions. Before the 2024 amendment, abortion was outlawed in the state except in medical emergencies or to save a woman’s life. The ballot measure would also codify the state’s ban on sex change drugs and surgeries for minors. In June, a Jackson County judge overturned most of the state’s abortion restrictions, according to the report.
