SRINAGAR: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday detained a man from central Kashmir’s Budgam district for allegedly sharing radical content on social media, officials said.
Officials said scrutiny of his social media account revealed posts, images and other digital material allegedly carrying radical and anti-national overtones.
The material reportedly included radical narratives, glorification and projection of individuals associated with terrorism, extremist viewpoints and content that could influence or radicalise impressionable persons.
The agency also urged the public, particularly parents and young social media users, to exercise caution and use online platforms responsibly.
The agency urged people to report suspicious or extremist material on social media to the police rather than forwarding or further circulating it.
