Speaking to reporters after Saturday's training camp practice, Mahomes admitted he's "trying to push it" as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL. Every indication from camp so far suggests Mahomes will be ready to play in Week 1 of the regular season. He was fully cleared to practice and go through all of the periods they have in camp a few days before players reported. Mahomes has been on the field every day since the Chiefs' first full-squad workout on July 29. The Chiefs' Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos is on Sept. 14, exactly nine months to the day that he tore his ACL.
