Devon County Council has confirmed that from October 1, 2026, it will bring key elements of carer support services in-house. "Unpaid carers make an enormous contribution to communities across Devon, often balancing caring responsibilities alongside work, education and family life. Peer support, wellbeing services and opportunities to connect with others will continue to form a core part of the offer. Services such as peer support services and carer ambassador services will be recommissioned, with new contracts set to start from 1 October 2026. Arrangements with Citizens Advice to support unpaid carers will remain in place.
