Actor and musician Pierre-Luc Brillant is trying his luck again under the banner of the Parti Québécois. The political party announced Saturday that he will run for a second time in the Montreal riding of Rosemont, a bastion of solidarity where nothing is yet decided since the outgoing MNA, Vincent Marissal, announced his retirement from political life. Brillant finished third in the 2022 election, behind Marissal and Sandra O’Connor, the CAQ candidate. Despite his electoral defeat, Brillant continued his political commitment, becoming vice-president of the Union des artistes in 2023. Rosemont was a PQ stronghold for a long time until the election of Vincent Marissal in 2018, who has represented the riding since then.
