Leigh Journal | News
The application relates to 44-52 Railway Road and seeks permission for a mixed flexible use comprising a hotel and a large HMO.
Plans have been submitted to convert the building into a mixed-use development featuring a 39-bedroom hotel and HMO (Image: Google Maps)According to planning documents submitted to Wigan Council, the proposal would create 39 bedrooms and have a maximum occupancy of 48 people.
The planning application was received by Wigan Council on June 12 and validated on July 29.
Large HMOs can often prove contentious, with supporters arguing they provide much-needed accommodation, while critics raise concerns about their impact on local communities, parking and local services.
The application is available to view on Wigan Council's planning portal, where residents can submit comments before a decision is made.
