The centre, known as BARN, has been awarded the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation by the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action, NAVCA.
The accreditation is designed to recognise effective local volunteer centres and is awarded after an assessment process which can take up to six months.
The charity was temporarily based at Redditch Ecumenical Development Initiative’s REDI Centre before moving into premises at 11a Church Green East, Redditch, earlier this year.
The volunteer centre links people and groups interested in volunteering with charities, community organisations and services seeking support across Bromsgrove and Redditch.
NAVCA’s accreditation process assesses volunteer centres across five areas: strategic development of volunteering, good-practice development, brokerage, developing volunteering opportunities, and representing the voice of volunteers locally.
