THE COUNTY council’s public health team have donated 100 new book bags for families to borrow from libraries across Worcestershire, writes Niamh Cassidy. The bags include books about starting school, helpful tips and advice for parents and carers, and fun activities to build confidence and encourage conversations. As many kids across the county will be preparing to start school for the first time this September, the ‘Get School Ready’ scheme has been designed to make the transition to school smooth and enjoyable. A parent said: “It has made my daughter feel more confident about starting school and helped us have positive conversations about this big milestone.” Visit worcestershire.gov.uk/council-services/libraries/read-and-discover/get-school-ready-worcestershires-libraries to see how to borrow a bookbag.
