The index is based on five factors: dating pool size, affordability, dining and daytime venues, nightlife, and safety. A spokesman for AdultWork said: "This index challenges the idea that single life in Britain happens mainly in London. Powys scored especially well in affordability, dining options, and nightlife, earning an overall score of 61.59 out of 100. Cardiff has the largest dating pool in Wales, with 172,455 single adults. The Vale of Glamorgan finished lowest for Wales, placing 257th, while Newport and Denbighshire were close behind at 182nd and 180th.
