I just got engaged but didn’t mean to! She assumed I was singing the words “I think I want to marry you” to her, and the next thing I know is she’s jumping around shouting: “Yes, yes, OK, let’s do it.” I didn’t have the heart to burst her bubble, so I cowardly mumbled: “Soon.” I know I’m an idiot and have only myself to blame, but I’m in a right mess and don’t know how to get out of it. You’re not entirely to blame, as she didn’t wait until you were on bended knees; you sang lyrics, she heard vows and wrongly invented a whole situation which wasn’t there.
