Morocco’s Port Traffic Rises 14.4% in H1 2026

Transshipment traffic climbed 28.6% from a year earlier to 82.6 million tonnes, while domestic traffic edged up 0.6% to 66 million tonnes.
Imports increased 3.6% to 40.7 million tonnes, while exports fell 1.6% to 20.6 million tonnes.
Coastal shipping declined 14.6% to 3.9 million tonnes, and hydrocarbon bunkering dropped 4.1% to 868,000 tonnes, mainly serving vessels transiting the Strait of Gibraltar.
However, traffic in phosphates and related products fell 11.2% to 14.6 million tonnes, coal traffic declined 2.9% to 5.2 million tonnes, and international road transportation dropped 3.2% to 301,191 units.
Meanwhile, cruise passenger traffic increased 2.4% to 174,366 passengers, while landings of coastal and artisanal fisheries products fell 6.3% to 367,184 tonnes.
