Rush City, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Authorities in east-central Minnesota have released details concerning an apparent drowning that occurred earlier this week when a man attempted to elude law enforcement.
Traffic stop leads to deadly St. Croix River incidentThe Chisago County Sheriff's Office says deputies attempted a traffic stop Thursday evening on a vehicle driven by a man wanted on an outstanding felony warrant.
A news release says the man fled in his vehicle and was chased to the St. Croix River, where the fleeing motorist drove into the water using a boat ramp.

The search operation ended around 9 a.m. Friday when Chisago County Water Patrol deputies recovered his body a short distance downstream from where his vehicle entered the St. Croix River.
