The Roman crucifixion was one of the most painful and shameful executions known to man. Along the way “to the place Golgotha” they conscripted a man named Simon from Cyrene to carry the cross for Jesus (Mark 15:21- 22). Even the two robbers that were on either side of Jesus mocked Jesus (that is until one of them realized that Jesus was the Messiah). For more of Isaiah’s prophecies of Jesus’ crucifixion read Isaiah 53. King David wrote of Jesus’ crucifixion in Psalm 22.
