MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County Board of Commissioners will adopt its millage rate, at its August 25, meeting, a day after the Colquitt County School Board adopts theirs. County Administrator Chas Cannon presented the proposed rates at a recent commission meeting and said, “You can see the impact of FLOST, there, on the incorporated, unincorporated. The proposed millage rate, for the county, is 6.717 for unincorporated and 9.518 for incorporated. Last year’s millage rate was 9.197 for unincorporated and 11.767 for incorporated. There were also proposed decreases in millage rate for the Economic Development Authority, which went from .217 to .215, and for the Parks and Recreation Authority, which went from 1.484 to 1.474.
