LOGAN SQUARE — Manolo Hermosillo took a break from working at Cafe Con Leche to see his friend and coworker, Ellie Rico, at the counter of Mr. E’s next door. Hermosillo is one of many Cafe Con Leche employees who have been with the popular Latin restaurant, 2714 N. Milwaukee Ave., since the beginning. Rico started at Cafe Con Leche 12 years ago and is now the director of operations for Hani’s company. Hani, a Logan Square native who still lives in the neighborhood, opened Red Star Liquor and Deli, 2725 N. Milwaukee Ave., almost 30 years ago. Hani’s company owns La Victoria, 2447 N. Milwaukee Ave., The Harding Tavern, 2732 N. Milwaukee Ave., and hot dog joint Mr. E’s, 2704 N. Milwaukee Ave., and co-owns Mucho Gusto, 2700 N. Milwaukee Ave.
