Viz Media has partnered with management and production company The Gotham Group to develop film and TV projects based on its growing library of original properties. The agreement will include potential adaptations of titles published under the Viz Originals banner, as well as new projects built around the animated franchise RWBY, according to Deadline. Viz acquired RWBY from Warner Bros. Discovery in 2024 following the closure of the series’ original producer, Rooster Teeth. Viz president and CEO Brad Woods said the Gotham partnership represents the next stage in the company’s effort to develop RWBY as a global, multiplatform franchise while bringing its original graphic novels to new audiences.
